SHELTON, CT — A campaign has been launched to help a beloved Shelton High School coach "rebuild after losing everything" in a recent house fire.

In a description for a GoFundMe campaign launched June 30, Isaac Montalvo is described as a selfless and humble person who is always willing to lend a hand.

"As a coach at Shelton High School, Isaac has been a tireless advocate for his student-athletes," the campaign's description reads. "He's poured his heart into the soccer program, not only preparing his players to compete on the field but guiding them through life's challenges off the field as well. His impact as a mentor and leader is felt far beyond the sidelines."

The campaign page also notes Montalvo and his family are safe, however their home and all of their belongings were destroyed in the devastating house fire.

"In just a few moments, over 20 years of memories, keepsakes and essentials, including clothing, furniture and daily necessities, were lost," the description reads.

NBC Connecticut reports the fire broke out on Lantern Road in Stratford the morning of June 27. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

According to the Connecticut Post, Montalvo and his family have been forced to live in a hotel as a result of the fire and will not be able to return home for at least a year.

Montalvo has served as head coach of the high school's boys soccer team since October 2017, CT Post reports.

The GoFundMe campaign was organized by Scott Snell, the athletic coordinator for Shelton High School.

As of Thursday afternoon, the page has already raised over $14,000 toward a $16,000 goal thanks to over 170 donations.

Every donation will go directly toward helping Montalvo and his family secure clothing, basic necessities, temporary housing and, eventually, a new place to call home, according to the GoFundMe.

"Let’s rally around a man who has done so much for our community and show him the same care and compassion he has shown to so many others," the description reads.
