Derby To Host Inaugural Ball For Charity Event

The event, consisting of food, dancing and fun, will benefit non-profit groups that serve Derby.

DERBY, CT — Mayor Joseph DiMartino announced this week the city will host an inaugural ball for charity next month benefitting non-profit groups that serve Derby.

According to a flyer provided by the city, the ball will be held Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. at Sons and Daughters of Italy, located at 73 High Street in Derby.

The event will be a dinner dance featuring the sounds of the valley's own rock and roll band, Shameless.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. with a dinner consisting of chicken parmigiana, pasta, salad, bread and desserts to be served at 6:30 p.m. Dancing and fun will then take place at 7:30 p.m.

This is a cash bar event, so credit cards will not be accepted, according to the flyer. BYOB is also not permitted.

The cost of the event is $50 per person. Checks can be made payable to the City of Derby Charity Ball Fund.

Tables of 10 may be reserved for a group's convenience.
