Derby Tree Lighting, Holiday Kickoff Event 2025 Details Announced

The city's holiday tree lighting event will feature music, hot chocolate, candy canes and a visit from Santa.

DERBY, CT — The city will hold its holiday tree lighting ceremony this weekend on the Derby Green, located at 105 Elizabeth Street.

In an announcement, city officials said the event will be held Friday, Nov. 28, at 5 p.m. and feature the Derby High School and Bradley School chorus singing festive Christmas songs.

Cornerstone Church will also perform during the event.

Santa will arrive at the event by firetruck at 5:30 p.m., and there will also be hot chocolate and candy canes available for guests to warm their evening.

Residents are invited to bring their family and friends to help Derby celebrate the holiday season.
