An off-duty police officer rescued a person from a vehicle that caught fire after a rollover crash in Shelton, according to fire officials.
SHELTON, CT — An off-duty police officer rescued a person from a vehicle that caught fire after a rollover crash in Shelton, according to fire officials.
According to a post on the Shelton Fire Department Facebook page, the rollover crash was reported Monday just before 11 a.m. on Long Hill Avenue near Laurel Wood Drive.
When crews arrived in the area, they found a vehicle on its side and on fire, according to fire officials.

Crews were informed a person was removed from the vehicle by Roger Falcone, an off-duty Shelton police officer.
"If it wasn't for the fast actions of [Officer] Falcone, the outcome could have been significantly different," the post reads, "as the fire had entered the passenger compartment of [the] vehicle. Great work, Officer Falcone!"
