
Echo Hose EMTs Tim Greer and Jeff Caporaso are taking a road trip this weekend.
After packing a U-Haul full of diapers, toiletries, toys, clothing and water on Friday, the two EMTs are personally driving it to the first responders in Moore, Okla., which a May 20 tornado seriously damaged.
The medics left Friday at 7 p.m. and should arrive June 23 at 8 a.m.
The ambulance corps. has been collecting donations all month, especially out in front of Walmart on Bridgeport Avenue.
Echo Hose Chief Mike Chaffee said, “We are enthusiastic to be able to support our fellow brethren in their time of need.”
Caporaso, Special Operations Leader and Community Outreach member, said, “I am excited and thankful for the great support our community has demonstrated in the support of our fellow first responders. We are also grateful to U-Haul for donating a trailer to make the delivery possible.”
