Fire Breaks Out In Basement Of Shelton Home: FD
Fire officials said smoke was visible from outside the Shelton home and fire was found in the basement.
SHELTON, CT — Crews extinguished a fire that broke out in the basement of a Shelton home early Monday morning, according to fire officials.
In a news release, officials said a structure fire was reported at a home on East Village Road around 1:30 a.m.
When crews arrived, smoke was visible from outside the home and the residents confirmed a fire in the basement, officials said.

Firefighters then stretched a hose to the location of the fire. Crews confirmed all occupants were out of the home before overhaul, ventilation and metering took place, officials said.
The blaze was quickly extinguished and contained to the basement, according to fire officials. Crews were able to remove the smoke and minimize smoke damage throughout the home.

No injuries were reported, however Shelton EMS stood by in case of any injuries. Shelton police provided traffic control, officials said.
The main level of the home was left habitable. The cause of the fire is under investigation, fire officials said.
