TGIF!

1.     Fun fact for Friday! Today is Underdog Day and National Maple Syrup Day. Shelton residents, who is your underdog? A sports team? Politician? Share your thoughts in the comments!

2.     According to the National Weather Service, today will be sunny, with a high near 34. At night conditions will be mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming clear, with a low around 22 degrees.

3.     The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk is now showing three IMAX films: "Island of the Sharks," "Polar Express," and "Harry Potter in the Deathly Hallows." So if you're looking to get out of Shelton for the weekend, this makes a great day trip for the family.

4.    A Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce Healthcare Council Meeting is taking place at 900 Bridgeport Ave. from 8:15 – 9:30 a.m. It will focus on educating members, the business community, consumers, and government representatives in a bid to help reduce employee absentee costs and increase workers productivity while limiting overall healthcare costs.

5.     This day in history: On Dec. 17, 1777, France recognized American independence.
