Helping Shelton's Cheerleaders

The following comes from the Shelton Youth Football & Cheer club.

Shelton Youth Football & Cheer is proud to announce that its D10 cheer team is heading to Nationals in Orlando, Fla.!  On Dec. 15 our 4th and 5th grade cheerleaders will compete against the best in the nation.  They have had a very successful season thus far, and hope to continue that success.  Head coach, Michelle Civale said, “We are so proud of our girls, and we believe they have a solid shot at bringing home a national title!”

The D10 Vikings placed first at the New England AYC Regional Championships in Hartford on Saturday, Nov. 23.  They were up against 15 other teams from 4 states in their division.  They are also the State Champions with the highest score of all teams in all divisions in the state of Connecticut, as well as the local champions and grand champions in their age group.

Our D10 team is very large- with 35 athletes- and it is extremely costly to get all of them and their families to Florida on such short notice.  To help offset the costs associated with going to nationals, we will be having several fundraising events in the coming weeks.  If you can’t make it to one of our events below, please go to http://www.gofundme.com/5gnmyc to make a direct donation.  If you own a local business, and would like to make a donation, please email our VP of Cheer at amystanko@gmail.com so she can provide our tax exemption letter and sponsorship form.  All monies raised will go directly toward team travel and competition expenses.
