A home was determined to be "not habitable" after a house fire Wednesday morning in Shelton, according to fire officials.
SHELTON, CT — A Shelton home was determined to be "not habitable" after a house fire Wednesday morning on Myrtle Street, according to fire officials.
In a news release, fire officials said the residential structure fire was reported around 7 a.m., which was soon declared a working house fire.
Crews quickly arrived and stretched a hose line to the basement and first floor of the home.

Firefighters extinguished flames in the basement and made a quick knockdown on the blaze, fire officials said.
Emergency medical crews stood by in case of injuries, however none were reported, according to fire officials. Derby fire crews provided station coverage.

The home was deemed not habitable, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation, fire officials said.
