While The Edison Electric Institute felt responding to the unprecedented damage to the electrical grid following the storm, some Shelton residents were not as satisfied.

"When and how the power comes back on can be left to the experts who claim to run UI. However, the mayor should request a full Irene after action report when the time is appropriate to do so. Full details such as which repairs were completed, where they were completed, when and why they were completed by UI should be provided thru [sic] the Internet to the residents of Shelton.
