Beloved Wife, Mother & Grandmother - Retired Pharmacist Assistant of White Cross Pharmacy

Janice Ann Wisniewski, age 86, beloved wife of Edwin T. Wisniewski of Huntington, died peacefully on August 15, 2025, at Bridgeport Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born on April 9, 1939, in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Olga Shersty Wendel. Mrs. Wisniewski was raised in Dixon City, PA and moved to Bridgeport, CT in 1961. A Huntington resident since 1972, Mrs. Wisniewski worked as a pharmacist assistant for over 20 years at the former White Cross Pharmacy of Shelton, until the time of her retirement in 2001. She was a longtime member of St. Lawrence Church, an avid crossword puzzler and an active personality on social media. Mrs. Wisniewski enjoyed watching her afternoon soaps and dining out with her husband at their favorite restaurants. She will be long remembered for her special love for her family, especially for her grandchildren. In addition to her husband of 64 years, Mrs. Wisniewski is survived by her devoted sons, Gary Wisniewski and his wife Suzanne of Oxford, and Gregg Wisniewski and his wife Kimberly of Ansonia; cherished grandchildren, Deanna Wisniewski of Shelton, Jordan Wisniewski and his wife, Pratibha, of Orange, Taryn Wisniewski of Shelton, and Delaney Mason and her husband, James, of Shelton; a cherished great-granddaughter, Anya Wisniewski of Orange, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Jordan Wendel. Family and friends may call on Monday August 18, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Avenue, Huntington. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peters Cemetery, Derby. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your favorite charity.
