Police said a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a Shelton apartment was recently arrested.

SHELTON, CT — A man accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a Shelton apartment was arrested Friday, according to police.
In a news release, Police Sgt. Colin Bitsco said officers responded to an apartment building after receiving a 911 hang-up call.
When police arrived in the area, they found a woman outside the apartment building who told officers that Sean Senerchia, 23, of Shelton, remained inside.

Bitsco also noted Senerchia became confrontational with responding officers during his arrest.
Senerchia was charged with first-degree sexual assault, third-degree strangulation, disorderly conduct and interfering with an officer.
His bond was initially set at $100,000, however the bail commissioner's office later raised it to $250,000 after reviewing the case, according to Bitsco.
Senerchia was unable to post bond and appeared in court Monday, Bitsco said.
