
A former Shelton resident is being accused of assaulting his grandfather, according to police.
Tyler Falanga, 24, is charged with assault on an elderly person and two counts of failure to appear in court.
Police said he hit his grandfather in the arm during an argument in a car on Wesley Heights Road. The man suffered an abrasion to the arm and Shelton EMTs responded, police said.
Falanga was arrested on May 28 about 9 a.m., police said.
His bond was set at $500 for the assault charge and $10,000 for the failure to appear charges. He is scheduled to appear June 6 in Derby Superior Court.
