Man Fires Gun in Yard, Under the Influence

The following information comes from a police press release by Lt. Robert Kozlowsky of the Shelton Police Dept. It does not indicate convictions.

On March 4 at approximately 1:30 a.m., responded to a report of numerous gunshots on Ridgefield Terrace. An investigation by police led to 26 Ridgefield Terrace where they spoke to the homeowner, who initially told police that he also heard gunshots but wasn’t sure where they were coming from.

Police later located several spent ammunition casings on that property, along with firearms inside the residence.

Police arrested the homeowner, 58-year-old Zygmunt Mysliwiec, and charged him with:

  • Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm,
  • Carrying a Firearm under the Influence,
  • Interfering with an Officer,
  • and Second degree breach of peace.

Mysliwiec was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Derby Court on 03-19-12.
