DERBY, CT — A man performing mechanical work in Derby became pinned underneath a vehicle Saturday evening and was rescued by police, WTNH News 8 reports. Police said the 54-year-old man was pinned by the front left wheel of a 2003 Hummer.

According to News 8, family members and neighbors tried to push the vehicle off the man before officers arrived and successfully moved the Hummer. The man was then taken to a hospital after showing signs of respiratory distress, and police said he is expected to recover.
