
A Monroe man is charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle in connection with an accident about a year ago involving a car and a motorcycle.
James Steinmetz, 34, turned himself in Wednesday on a warrant also charging him with failure to yield while turning left, said Police Lt. Robert Kozlowsky.
The motorcyclist, Adam Haydu, 30, of Monroe, died 12 days after the July 8, 2012 accident.

Steinmetz was released on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Derby Court July 23.
The accident took place July 8 on Leavenworth Road at the driveway entrance to the KellyNick LLC / Mont’s Mart.The vehicle was traveling west on Leavenworth Rd and the motorcycle was traveling east on Leavenworth Rd. The vehicle made a left turn towards the driveway of Mont's Mart and in the process collided with the motorcycle, police said.
