Nancy Marie Beres, age 76, beloved wife of Paul M. Beres of West Haven, died peacefully on October 19, 2025 at St. Vincents Medical Center. Born in Derby on October 24, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Helen Bacha Motel. Mrs. Beres was raised in Ansonia, was a graduate of Ansonia High School and the Waterbury Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at Griffin Hospital for over 35 years until her retirement in 2013. A longtime valley resident before moving to West Haven, Mrs. Beres was a lifelong member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church of Ansonia and St. John Vianney Church of West Haven. Together with her husband, she enjoyed many trips to Aruba. Mrs. Beres was proud of her Ukrainian heritage and would prepare family recipes for holidays and events. In addition to her husband of 54 years, she is survived by a devoted daughter, Kimberly MacKinney and her husband, Blake of Oxford; sisters, Jean Stevenson of Woodbridge and Patricia Marra and her husband , Steven of Ansonia; her cherished granddaughter, Olivia MacKinney of Oxford; cousins, William Kozak and his wife, Kathy of Shelton and Michael Bacha and his wife Amy, of Washington DC.
