Obituary: Edward F. Hoyt, 86, of Shelton
Ed, an avid golfer and wood worker, was known for his sense of humor and unconditional love for his family.

SHELTON, CT - (From Spear-Miller Funeral Home) Edward F. Hoyt, 86, of Shelton passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 25, 2022.
He was the devoted husband to Pauline (Hunt) Hoyt for 64 years after meeting at the Pleasure Beach Ballroom in 1952.
Edward was born on October 15, 1935 in Bridgeport to the late Edward S. and Margaret Lorensen Hoyt.
After graduating Bassick High School in 1953, Edward served in the US Army and retired as an engineer from SNET in 1996. In his retirement
Ed enjoyed golf, as well as wood working, particularly building pieces of furniture for his family.
He also enjoyed taking rides with Pauline to watch the water at St. Mary’s by the Sea. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his friends and family and making everyone laugh with his wonderful sense of humor.
In addition to Pauline, Edward is survived by his three children: Glen (Karen) Hoyt of Florida, Paula (Mark) Floberg of Shelton, and Pamela (Jerry) Fucci of Branford. He also leaves his adored grandchildren: John Hoyt, Marie Hoyt Valentine, Kristin & Emma Floberg and Michelle & Laura Fucci.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his siblings, Robert Hoyt and Margaret Capozziello.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Ed’s life at 10AM at the Spear Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Rd., Fairfield followed by the Funeral Service at 11AM.
