SHELTON, CT — Crumbl, a popular chain that serves up warm, freshly made cookies in an eye-catching pink package, will open its newest location in Shelton's Fountain Square plaza on May 3.

Owner Sam Gandhi confirmed to Patch the new Shelton store will hold a soft opening and ribbon cutting at 785 Bridgeport Avenue on May 2 at 10 a.m., followed by an official grand opening May 3, which will also be "free cookie day."

According to Gandhi, who co-owns the new Shelton store with Parin Gandhi, Crumbl will be surrounded by a number of popular plaza tenants, including Chick-fil-A , Panera Bread and Jersey Mike's.

"Shelton is a really grown up town," Gandhi said. "We highly believe in customer service, cleanliness and cookie quality. Those are three 'c's' that are really important [to us]."

The Gandhis' journey to Crumbl was serendipitous, according to additional press materials provided by the company. Drawn to Crumbl for its blend of innovation and tradition, they see each cookie as a masterpiece crafted with care and passion.

Embraced by Shelton's vibrant community, the former New York residents feel privileged to contribute something special and have quickly fallen in love with the area's charm and warmth.

Together with their dedicated crew, they have meticulously prepared the Shelton location to deliver an irresistible experience to customers, according to Crumbl.

The Shelton store will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on its grand opening day, during which customers can enjoy free semi-sweet chocolate chunk cookies.

Normal operating hours will be Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The store will be closed Sundays.

Crumbl cookies are larger than an average cookie, and most of them are served warm when purchased at one of their stores. Crumbl's long, distinctive pink packages are also a popular sight on social media.

The cookie menu rotates on a weekly basis, and the best place for customers to view the ever-changing selection is through the Crumbl app or by visiting the chain's Instagram page.

The new Crumbl store is one of three new additions announced earlier this year for Fountain Square.

Popular sandwich chain Jersey Mike's Subs opened its twelfth Connecticut location at the plaza in March, according to spokesperson Robert Calabro.

"Our [Shelton] customers can expect the same consistent product and service that Jersey Mike's is known for," Calabro said in an email to Patch.

Sugar Llamas, a small chain specializing in mini donuts, coffee and ice cream, announced in March plans to open their first Connecticut location at the plaza sometime this spring.

Custom ice cream cakes will also be available.

Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce President Bill Purcell said back in March the chamber was pleased to see a number of exciting new businesses recently added or planned to open soon at Fountain Square.

"We look forward to welcoming Sugar Llamas, Crumbl Cookies...and others," Purcell said, "to the growing list of businesses on this campus."
