Previous public office, appointive or elective:

I am a current member of the Shelton Board of Education

Why are you seeking this office?

My own career and life have had many chapters and great experiences, all built on the foundation of a good public education. I aim to bring my leadership and management experience to the BOE to support our children, teaching teams and administration in the Shelton Public Schools.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:

Funding for public schools. I will listen to the administration, teaching teams, and parents to identify critical needs and gaps, and advocate for a fully funded budget to be presented to the City of Shelton for their support.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I do not believe that school systems and thrive on the bare minimum and neglect of ongoing investment in staff and resources.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

Health benefits for staff are grossly underfuned this year. We also need to be mindful of supporting special education costs that may need additional funding.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

I have supported leadership teams responsible for services for children and adolescents in health systems and understand budgeting, policy mandates, services requirements, and ensuring that personnel are well supported.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

'The only way out is through' - helping me to understand that tough times and challenges are something we manage through dealing with them, not avoiding them.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I support being cost-effective, not just bare bones, minimal budgets. We need to ensure that Shelton kids get the excellent education they deserve.
