Alderman in Ward 4
What town do you live in?
Shelton
Party Affiliation:
Democratic
Occupation:
Retired computer programmer.
Family:
My sister Joan Littlefield is running for re-election to the Board of Education.
Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
No.
Previous public office, appointive or elective:
No.
Why are you seeking this office?
I am upset that City Hall always shorts the school system on the money it needs. Surely we can use our tax revenues more wisely to provide for Shelton's children.
The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
Lack of funding for the schools. As an Alderman, I hope to work to get the school system adequately funded.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
My running mate and I are in complete agreement; the incumbents have been complicit in refusing to adequately fund our children's schools.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Transparency in budgeting; dealing with infrastructure issues (including parking downtown), better-coordinated development instead of the current situation of building anywhere.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Executive experience hiring staff and managing a budget.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Always tell the truth; it's easier than remembering lies.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I ended up in Shelton later in life, and I find that it is a great place. I want to make it even greater.
