Party Affiliation:

Democrat

Occupation:

Farmer - 14yrs.

Family:

I am the eldest of three siblings. Parents are deceased

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?

No.

Previous public office, appointive or elective:

I have been a Commissioner on the Conservation Commission since 1998, currently it's Chairman. It is an appointed position from the Mayor.

Why are you seeking this office?

I have served the City for over a quarter century. I feel I can bring a positive impact to the City as an Alderman.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:

Lack of municipal planning, from infrastructure of a sewer system that needs preparation for the economic growth the community needs, to documenting which roads are projected to need repairs or repaving. I would 1) ask for a City Planner to be utilized exclusively for Shelton, 2) ask that a thorough update to the Plan of Conservation & Development be conducted promptly.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I am open to hearing a diversity of opinions that will help solve the challenges that Shelton faces.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

More transparency to government actions, both fiscally and legislatively.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

27 years of service in the City resulted in numerous grants obtained for passive recreation opportunities and Open Space acquisition, saving the City millions of dollars.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

Keep looking forward, because if you look backward, you tend to run into things.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I admire two quotes, one of which I will share: "Leadership is a potent mix of strategy and honor, but if you must choose one, choose honor." - General Norman Swartzkopf
