Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Derby Crash: Police
The crash occurred Wednesday afternoon on Pershing Drive in Derby, according to authorities.

DERBY, CT — A 50-year-old woman was seriously injured Wednesday when she was struck by a vehicle near the entrance to the Shop Rite supermarket on Pershing Drive in Derby, according to police.
The victim, whose name was not released, was in stable condition but still under critical care Thursday at Yale New Haven Hospital, according to authorities.
"Preliminary investigation suggests the female was attempting to cross Pershing Drive when she was struck by a vehicle traveling in the southbound lane (heading towards the route 8 south on-ramp)," Derby police wrote on Facebook.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured and remained at the scene following the 2:35 p.m. crash, according to police.
A portion of Pershing Drive was temporarily closed Wednesday afternoon while police investigated the crash.
