Perkin Elmer Honored by CT DEEP

PerkinElmer Health Sciences, Inc. has received a Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) GREENCIRCLE award. The GREENCIRCLE award was presented to PerkinElmer in recognition of multiple energy and environmental conservation projects completed at their Shelton, Connecticut site.

Nicholas Dellolio Jr., Manager, Facilities, Security & Support Services and James Oberndorfer, Manager of Environmental, Safety and Health accepted the award on behalf of PerkinElmer. The GREENCIRCLE Award ceremonies were conducted at the Bristol-Meyers, Squibb Research Headquarters in Wallingford, Connecticut. DEEP Commissioner Daniel C. Esty presided over the ceremony and personally congratulated each award winner.

PerkinElmer submitted data on a wide range of energy and environmental projects for consideration. These included installation of high efficiency lighting, environmental friendly air conditioning with free cooling heat exchangers, new high efficiency heating boilers. The successful deployment of a powerful community volunteer effort called "For The Better Day" was also submitted.

GreenCircle Program

“For the past 15 years, GreenCircle Awards have called attention to the voluntary efforts of businesses, organizations, and individuals, that have played a very real role in improving the environment of our state,” said Daniel C. Esty, Commissioner of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. “Through the GreenCircle awards we are able to recognize the good works being done by so many people to improve the quality of life in Connecticut and build a sustainable future for our state.”

Since the Agency launched the GreenCircle Award Program, approximately 1050 individuals, businesses, schools and organizations have been recognized for making a real difference in preserving natural resources and protecting the quality of the state’s air, water and lands.
