Person Injured After Jumping 25 Feet Into Watering Hole At Shelton State Park: FD

Fire officials said an injured person was rescued from the woods at a state park in Shelton after jumping over 20 feet into a watering hole.

SHELTON, CT — An injured person was rescued from the woods at Indian Well State Park in Shelton after jumping more than 20 feet into a watering hole Sunday afternoon, according to fire officials.

In a news release, fire officials said crews were called to the waterfall at the state park around 4:15 p.m. after receiving a report of an injured adult needing help out of the woods after jumping approximately 25 feet into the watering hole.

Firefighters, along with Echo Hose Ambulance and Department of Energy and Environmental Protection crews, removed downed trees and used a stokes basket to carry the injured person approximately 1,500 feet to an awaiting ambulance, according to fire officials.

The injured person was then taken to a local hospital for treatment, fire officials said.
