Popular Discount Chain To Open New Store In Derby
The chain, one of America's largest retailers of closeout merchandise and excess inventory, plans to open a new store in Derby soon.
DERBY, CT — Ollie's Bargain Outlet, a popular discount store chain with locations in Connecticut, is set to open a new store in Derby soon, a company spokesperson confirmed Wednesday.
In an email to Patch, Ollie's Spokesperson Tom Kuypers said a new store is planned to open in the city in mid-spring 2026, however he did not specify where in Derby the store will be located.
He also noted the company planned to release more information about a grand opening date for the Derby store closer to spring.

The Connecticut Scoop reports the store will be located on New Haven Avenue in the former American Freight space at Hilltop Commons, where it will occupy 25,000 square feet of space.
Ollie's bills itself as "America's largest retailer of closeout merchandise and excess inventory since 1982" that sells "real brands at real bargain prices," including housewares, food, cookware, toys, games, electronics and more, according to the company's website.

Ollie's currently operates hundreds of stores in over 30 states, including five in Connecticut: Manchester, Waterford, Newington, Willimantic and Barkhamsted.
