Ralph A. Vittorio - Obituary
Beloved Husband - Father - Grandfather, Proud U.S. Army Veteran, Successful Career Banker
Ralph Alvaro Vittorio, Jr., age 87, beloved husband of Claire A. Lavoie Vittorio of Shelton, died peacefully on October 30, 2025 at the Shady Knoll Health Care Center, Seymour, with his family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on September 24, 1938, he was the son of the late Ralph Vittorio and Concetta Maruzzo Vittorio. Mr. Vittorio was raised in Bridgeport, a 1956 graduate of Fairfield Prep High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1961. Following his military service, Mr. Vittorio began his career in banking and finance working at National Bank and Trust where he met the love of his life. Later working for Lafayette Bank, then Valley Bank in Shelton where he was co-founder and Vice President, an accomplishment of which he was extremely proud. Later moving on to Colonial Bank, Bank of Boston NA and retiring from Fleet Bank in 2000. In his younger years he was an active baseball and tennis player and an extremely loyal fan of the NY Yankees. In addition to his spouse of 63 years, Mr. Vittorio is survived by a beloved daughter, Michelle Laliots and her husband, Thomas of Shelton; cherished grandchildren, Sandra Listro and her companion Dan Komarowsky of Beacon Falls, Nikki Sumner and her husband Joseph of FL, Victoria Laliots of TX, Thomas “TJ” Laliots of Shelton, Joseph Winters and Christopher Winters, both of Ansonia; He is also survived by his son-in-law Mark Winters, and his great-grandchildren, Joseph and Kayleigh Sumner of FL; his sister-in-law Helen Vittorio as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Vittorio was predeceased by his daughters, Annette “Annie” D. Winters and Concetta “Tina” Vittorio; a sister, Jean Staltari and brothers, Joseph and Benedetto Vittorio.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, November 2, 2025 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Funeral services will take place on Monday, November 3, 2025 at 10:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, 420 Coram Avenue, Shelton. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, Derby, CT.
