Rita Mary Biga, age 72 of Derby, died peacefully at home on July 13, 2025. Born in Derby, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Wanda Sledzianowski Biga. Ms. Biga was a graduate of Derby High School and a lifelong Derby resident. She worked as an administrative assistant for the Perkin-Elmer and Raytheon Companies for over 20 years, until her retirement in 2018. Ms. Biga then enjoyed her years as a makeup artist and retail salesclerk for Macy’s at the CT Post Mall. Her natural artistic talent and skilled eye for fashion made her a popular sales associate with a long list of clients. She particularly enjoyed preparing brides and bridal parties for their big day! Ms. Biga is survived by her devoted brother, Stanley Biga and his wife Patricia of Orange; a nephew, Jeffrey Biga of MA; a niece, Kristen Puglisi and her husband, Mario of Bethany; great-nephews, Joey & Dean Puglisi of Bethany; as well as several cousins and friends.
