Shelton Surgeon, Dr. Mark Melendez, Elected to FCMA Board of Trustees
Plastic Surgeon Board Certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Helps Lead the Fairfield County Medical Association

Mark M. Melendez, MD, MBA has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the Fairfield County Medical Association (FCMA) at its recent annual meeting. Dr. Melendez, a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon, actively participates in the Continuous Certification Program of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. His practice is located in the R.D. Scinto Corporate Towers in Shelton, CT. As a member of the Board, Dr. Melendez will help guide FCMA’s mission to strengthen the voice of nearly 1,000 physician members and further its influence in the healthcare community.

Founded in 1792 by a Special Act of the Connecticut General Assembly, FCMA is dedicated to organizing physicians in Fairfield County to protect the art and science of medicine, educate the public on health matters, and promote community wellness.

About Dr. Mark M. Melendez
Dr. Melendez is a board-certified and fellowship-trained plastic surgeon who performs a full range of cosmetic and reconstructive surgical procedures for the face, breast, and body. He specializes in breast and body contouring as well as facial rejuvenation.
Dr. Melendez serves as Division Chief of Plastic Surgery at St. Vincent’s Medical Center (Hartford Healthcare) and as Medical Director of Breast Reconstruction at Griffin Hospital. Additionally, he is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Quinnipiac University’s Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine. Known for his holistic approach to care, Dr. Melendez is devoted to providing patients with personalized, high-quality medical treatment.
Dr. Melendez completed a two-year plastic surgery residency with the largest plastic surgery group in the United States, the New York Plastic Surgical Group. He also completed a Microvascular Fellowship at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he trained with some of the nation’s leading plastic surgeons.
Dr. Melendez’s Shelton-based office creates a warm and welcoming environment, prioritizing patient comfort and care. He holds staff privileges at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Greenwich Hospital, and Griffin Hospital.
