How did you come up with the name?

Actually my Mom helped me come up with the name. I wanted something simple and something with my name attached to it somehow and we came up with using my initials and my Mom thought enterprises would sum up all the different things I do and offer with my business.I didn’t have to choose a location as I’m a home business and therefore work from my home.
Briefly, what business are you in?

I edit, proofread, type and critique stories and manuscripts for upcoming authors and writers. I also design business cards, note cards, and labels and I write poems for special occasions tailored to that person’s life. I translate German, French or Italian (on paper only), and I help students with homework assignments. Plus a big part of my business is my beaded jewelry. I make earrings, bracelets, necklaces, headbands, jewelry bookmarks and watch bracelets. You can find some of my creations on my web site, plus I also offer a catalog. And you can also find some of my creations on Zibbet.com.
What’s the most difficult moment or challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?
I guess one of the most difficult moments was when I first opened the business struggling to get customers. Once I started to get them, things worked out.
Were there any challenges that made you second guess your decision to be an entrepreneur?
I like all the challenges and I enjoy all my customers. I didn’t like the corporate world or the unfairness in the work place so I am glad I made the decision to have my own business and be my own boss.
What’s been your favorite moment or proudest achievement since opening?
When I was able to help several of my customers become published writers and authors, that was a proud achievement.
What’s the most innovative idea your employees or customers have had that you put into practice?
I usually come up with the innovative ideas not my customers and I don’t have any employees. My Mom and sister often come up with some ideas that I put into practice. They always give me good advice.
How do you deal with difficult customers?
When a customer is difficult, you have to try to use psychology with them. I have had a few difficult ones and I had to have a lot of patience with them. But once they see I do a good job for them, they write back and thank me. One lady even sent me flowers!
How does your business give back or get involved in the community?
I don’t get involved in the community and most of my customers are out of state, some out of country. I would like to have more customers in the area. But I have donated to the Shelton Police Union several times and they listed my business in the book they put out. I was happy to do that.
