How did you come up with the name?

It was kind of a joke! As I prepared the business, every time there was an issue, someone would say “Well, That’s ShowBiz” and it stuck!

Why choose that location? Why start a business in this town?

We just recently moved to this location after shooting a new television show with LIFETIME TV. It’s bigger than our old location.

Briefly, what business are you in?

We teach dance & musical theater to kids

What’s the most difficult moment or challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?

Most difficult challenge would be marketing, then dealing with finances and in my business, “Stage Moms” & “Dance Mom” who think their kids are “Stars”

Were there any challenges that made you second guess your decision to be an entrepreneur?

Absolutely, every time the checkbook was empty!

What’s been your favorite moment or proudest achievement since opening?

I have been in business a very long time, since 1996. My proudest achievement is seeing a child become a “paid performer” My favorite part is when they come back to visit and say “thank-you!”

What’s the most innovative idea your employees or customers have had that you put into practice?

Selling our own dance wear!

How do you deal with difficult customers?

I guess you can see for yourself on September 16 when our show on Lifetime airs. It’s not easy dealing with moms, but you just have to “smile and nod” and sometimes give them a pamphlet for the studio up the street! LOL

How does your business give back or get involved in the community?

We just heard of a young boy in town who is sick so we offered a “full year” of dance classes to be raffled to raise money.
