Maximino Delgado Villafane, 60, of Central Avenue, Bridgeport, is charged with fifth-degree larceny.
Police said Villafane filled a cart with groceries, totaling $709, and walked out of Stop & Shop on Nov. 6.
His bond was set at $1,000 for an appearance in Derby Superior Court.
