Zdzislaw Butler, 61, of Hull Court, Stratford, is charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree strangulation.
Police said Butler was arrested by warrant. He allegedly grabbed her during an argument March 27 and threw her against a wall, police said.
His bond was set at $5,000 for an appearance in Derby Superior Court.
