Timothy B. Tobin, 35, of Broc Terrace, is charged with disorderly conduct, risk of injury to a minor, third-degree assault and attempted third-degree strangulation.
Police said Tobin was arguing when he punched a hole in the wall and tried choke the alleged victim, police said.
Tobin's bond was set at $15,000 for an appearance in Derby Superior Court.
