Rudolph Peter Kurowski, 39, of Isinglass Road, Shelton, is charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct, second-degree reckless endangerment and risk of injury to a minor.
Police said Kurowski argued with an acquaintance while driving and assaulted her while a minor was present.
Kurowski's bond was set at $2,500 for an appearance in Derby Superior Court.
