Chad Curtis Bennett, 37, Mohawk Drive, West Haven, is charged with third-degree assault, criminal violation of a protective order, disorderly conduct and second-degree strangulation.
Police said Bennett grabbed a woman by the throat during an argument Aug. 30.
Bennett was arrested by warrant.
His bond was set at $10,000 for an appearance Derby Superior Court.
