Teresa Marie Alves, 49, of Macintosh Lane, Ansonia, is charged with third-degree burglary and attempted fifth-degree larceny.
Police said Alves took a laptop in a doctor's office on Leavenworth Road but put it back before leaving the office. There was a witness, police said.
Her bond was set at $2,500 for an appearance in Derby Superior Court.
