Shelton Day 2024 To Feature Live Music, Food Trucks

The Derby-Shelton Rotary's annual Shelton Day event is set to take place in October at Veterans Memorial Park.

SHELTON, CT — The Derby-Shelton Rotary's annual Shelton Day event is set to take place Oct. 6 in Shelton, featuring live music, food trucks and more.

According to a news release provided by the rotary, the event will be held at Veterans Memorial Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"Each year I am excited for Shelton Day as it is a great way to be with our Shelton family and support vendors, business and school programs," Derby-Shelton Rotary President Lucy Andrade said in a news release. "It is great to see everyone of all ages. It's so rewarding. I would like to thank all the vendors and sponsors that have signed up to date. We still have openings."

Attendees can look forward to a variety of activities, including live music performances, local food vendors, arts and crafts booths, children's activities and an adult beverage garden.

Highlights of the day include:

  • Live Music: Enjoy performances by Eight to the Bar (a popular six-piece swing band) the Shelton Gales Marching Band and Heavy Hitters.
  • Kids' Zone: A special area dedicated to kids with pony rides, petting zoo and train rides.
  • Community Vendors and Resources: Enjoy shopping the talents of craft vendors, local organizations and the services available in our area.
  • Food Trucks: Try delicious offerings from a variety of local food trucks and vendors.

Mayor Mark Lauretti is also set to appear at the event, according to the rotary.

Admission to the event and parking are both free. All proceeds from the Shelton Day event go right back to the community, according to the rotary.
