Shelton-Derby 2024 Election Results: Winners In Key Races Revealed
The polls have closed in Shelton and Derby for the 2024 elections, and here are the latest updates on how local residents voted.

SHELTON-DERBY, CT — Shortly after the polls closed Tuesday night, vice President Kamala Harris was announced as the winner of Connecticut's seven electoral college votes, defeating former President Donald J. Trump and three other candidates, according to the Associated Press.
Also, U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-CT, won re-election and a third term in Congress, according to projections. He defeated GOP challenger Matthew M. Corey and two other candidates.
For U.S. Congress in Shelton, the Associated Press reports Democrat Jim Himes is the projected winner against Republican candidate Michael Goldstein and Independent candidate Benjamin Wesley, according to unofficial results.

The Associated Press also reports Democrat Rosa DeLauro is the projected winner in District 3 over Republican Michael Massey, according to unofficial results.

Democrat Kara Rochelle is the projected winner in the District 104 state representative race, according to unofficial results, after Independent candidate Thomas Egan conceded to Rochelle on social media Tuesday night. Republican David Cassetti was also a candidate for the position.
"Congratulations to state representative Kara Rochelle on her win," Egan wrote on Facebook. "She is a great person, who ran an open an honest campaign. Best of luck to her and the people of the 104th."
Additionally, the following candidates ran unopposed in their respective races and are projected winners as a result: Republican Kevin Kelly and Democrat Jorge Cabrera for state senator, Republican Jason Perillo for state representative in District 113, Democrat Nicole Klarides-Ditria in District 105 and Democrat Mary Welander in District 114.
For state representative, the candidates in District 122 were Dorothy "Dottie" Lerner, Democrat, versus Ben McGorty, Republican.
For Registrar of Voters in Shelton, the candidates were: Janet Sabovik, Democrat, and Peter Pavone, Republican.
For Registrar of Voters in Derby, the candidates were: Louise A. Pitney, Democrat, and Thomas Lionetti, Republican.
Results for these races were not available before midnight on Election Night.
Connecticut voters also were asked to decide on the following ballot question: "Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to permit the General Assembly to allow each voter to vote by absentee ballot?"
CT Insider reports the absentee ballot question has passed, with over 50 percent of voters selecting "yes," according to unofficial results.
