SHELTON-DERBY, CT — Republican Incumbent Mark Lauretti is the projected winner in the Shelton mayoral race based on unofficial results, CT Insider reports.

CT Insider reports Lauretti won his 18th consecutive term with over 5,000 votes in Tuesday's election, according to unofficial results from Republican headquarters in Shelton. (Read the full CT Insider story here.)

The Secretary of State website shows Lauretti received 6,012 votes while Democratic candidate Bette Lynn Paez received 2,801 votes and petitioning candidate David Eldridge received 2,389 votes, according to unofficial results.

The city of Shelton has not released final numbers in Tuesday's municipal election yet.

According to unofficial results available late Tuesday on the Secretary of State website, Raymond O'Leary, a Republican, received 6,048 votes while Mandy Kilmartin, a Democrat, received 4,535 votes in the race for city treasurer.

In Derby, Democratic Incumbent Joseph DiMartino confirmed to Patch just before 9:30 p.m. that he planned to give a speech "very shortly" declaring victory in the city's mayoral race based on unofficial results.

DiMartino ran against Republican candidate Scott Derby for mayor during this election cycle. The city of Derby has not released final numbers in Tuesday's municipal election yet.

"I'm just so thankful to the voters of the city of Derby for giving me another two years," DiMartino said to Patch. "We've done some great things the past two years, and we're going to keep that moving forward."

The Connecticut Democratic Party announced on Facebook just after 8:30 p.m. that DiMartino is the projected winner in the race for mayor of Derby, according to unofficial results.

The Secretary of State website shows DiMartino received 1,692 votes and Derby received 947 votes, according to unofficial results.

According to unofficial results available late Tuesday on the Secretary of State website, Democratic incumbent Marc Garofalo received 1,704 votes in the race for town/city clerk while Republican candidate Gino DiGiovanni received 904 votes.

In the Derby treasurer race, Barbara Montalvo, a Democrat, received 1,479 votes while Judy Szewczyk, a Republican, received 1,052 votes, according to unofficial results posted to the Secretary of State website.

The votes are still being counted in several other local races in both Shelton and Derby, and we'll have live results as they are available.

The Democratic candidates are Robert Anderson III and Drew Lewis, and the Republican candidates are Porter McKinnon and Anthony Simonetti.


Board of Aldermen Ward 2, Vote for Up to Two:

The Democratic candidates are Kevin Kosty and Bryan Lizotte, and the Republican candidates are Benjamin Perry Jr. and Eric McPherson.


Board of Aldermen Ward 3, Vote for Up to Two:

The Democratic candidates are Mike Duncan and Thomas Harbinson, and the Republican candidates are John Anglace Jr. and Cris Balamac.


Board of Aldermen Ward 4, Vote for Up to Two:

The Democratic candidates are C. Paul Littlefield and Dawson Shyne-Appignani, and the Republican candidates are Lorenzo Durante and Bernard Simons Jr.


Board of Apportionment and Taxation, Vote for Up to Six:

The Democratic candidates are Greta Jacobsen, Wayne Bragg and Anthony SanMiguel, and the Republican candidates are John Belden Jr., John Boyko and Joanna Carloni.


Board of Education, Nine To Be Elected, Not More Than Five From One Party, Vote for Up to Nine:

The Democratic candidates are Kate Kutash, Patricia Moonan, Carole Pannozzo, Lorraine Rossner and Joan Littlefield, and the Republican candidates are Joseph Pelaggi IV, Jason Neves, Richard O'Connor, Jim Feehan and Anthony Smeraglino.


Planning and Zoning Commission, Vote for Up to Three:

The Democratic candidates are Kevin Paucar and Jimmy Tickey, and the Republican candidates are Robert Cristiano and Win Oppel.


Planning and Zoning Commission Alternates, Vote for Up to Two:

The Democratic candidate is Matt McGee and the Republican candidate is Ken Bertola.


Library Board of Directors, Vote for Up to Two:

The Democratic candidate is Nathan Diur, and the Republican candidates are Edward Szalan and Sally Finck.

The Democratic candidate is Joseph DiMartino, and the Republican candidate is Scott Derby.


Town/City Clerk, Vote for One:
