Shelton Man Carrying Loaded Gun Through Airport Security Arrested: State PD
A Shelton man was arrested after carrying a loaded gun through security at Bradley International Airport, according to state police.
SHELTON, CT — A Shelton man accused of carrying a loaded gun through security at Bradley International Airport was arrested Friday morning, according to state police.
In a news release, state police said Troop H personnel at the airport were contacted by TSA Agents around 10:30 a.m. about a passenger found traveling through the terminal security checkpoint with a loaded handgun in his possession.
The passenger was identified as Joseph Salemme, 59, of Shelton, and a loaded handgun was found in his carry-on baggage, according to state police.

Salemme told troopers he did not realize the firearm was in his baggage, according to state police.
Salemme was arrested on site without incident and taken to Troop H-Bradley for processing. He was charged with circumventing airport security.

The firearm and ammunition found in Salemme's possession were seized as evidence, state police said.
Salemme was later released on a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court next month, according to state police.
