Police: Man nearly struck a cruiser and utility pole during the December incident in Woodbury.

WOODBURY, CT — A Shelton man is accused of fleeing from police in a stolen dump truck in Woodbury in December, state police said.

Adrian Ajdinoski, 25, was charged on a warrant Sunday with larceny of a motor vehicle, engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle while under suspension, and littering.

The charges stem from an incident Dec. 21 at 10:15 p.m. According to state police, Ajdinoski was operating a white Chevrolet Silverado dump truck on Main Street in Woodbury when he nearly struck a police cruiser.

Police then tried to pull the vehicle over. Ajdinoski refused to stop and proceeded to run stop signs, nearly struck a utility pole and threw what appeared to be a beer can out his window, according to police.

Police stopped pursuing Ajdinoski when he drove away at a high rate of speed, according to an arrest warrant affidavit. The vehicle’s owner told investigators Ajdinoski did not have permission to drive it and reported the truck stolen.
