Shelton Man Killed In Highway Crash: State Police

One person was killed in a crash early Monday morning in Wallingford.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A Shelton man was killed in a crash on I-91 in Wallingford early Monday morning, according to police.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. just north of Exit 13 on I-91 South in Wallingford, according to Connecticut State Police.

Police said a 2016 Kia Soul being driven by Jeremy Bischoff was traveling in the center lane of three when it collided with the rear of an unknown commercial vehicle in the center lane.

Following the impact of the crash, the Kia spun out of control across the left lane and struck the metal cable barrier, according to police.

Police said the Kia then came to an “uncontrolled final rest” in the left lane/center median.

Bischoff suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by Wallingford EMS, according to police.

The damage to the Kia “was consistent with it colliding into the rear end/right rear corner of a Dry Van or Enclosed style semi-trailer prior to impacting the metal cable barrier,” police wrote in the accident report.

Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
