SHELTON, CT — Shelton police recently announced the newly elected union officials representing the Shelton Police Union.

In a Facebook post, police said the new union officials were named following "a fair and well-conducted election."

"This process reflects the commitment of our officers to leadership, integrity, and the collective strength of our department," the post reads.

The following list of union officials was announced Friday by the Shelton Police Department:

  • Union President: Officer John McMahon
  • Union Vice President: Officer Mike Curran
  • Union Treasurer: Sergeant Chris Brosz
  • Union Trustees: Officer Lenny Scinto and Officer Rick Bailey

"Congratulations to all, and thank you for your dedication and service to this city and department," the post reads.

In a statement posted to Facebook, McMahon said he was "truly honored" to serve as the union's president.

"This opportunity is both a privilege and a responsibility that I do not take lightly," McMahon said on Facebook. "I look forward to representing our dedicated officers and union members, ensuring their voices are heard and their hard work is recognized. I am also eager to collaborate with our command staff to strengthen the department and continue fostering a culture of professionalism, integrity, and service to our community. Together, we will build on the foundation of excellence that defines the Shelton Police Department."

McMahon also said he was "excited for what lies ahead" and "deeply grateful" for the trust placed in him.
