Shelton Police Seize Crack Cocaine, Stolen Firearm During Search: PD

SHELTON, CT — Officers seized over 4,000 grams of marijuana, as well as crack cocaine, fentanyl and a stolen firearm, during a search of a Bridgeport home Tuesday, according to Shelton police.

In a news release, police said members of the United States Postal Inspection Service, the Statewide Narcotics Task Force and the Statewide Urban Violence Cooperative Crime Control Task Force, which is comprised of federal agents, Connecticut State Police and both Shelton and Bridgeport officers, executed a residential search warrant in Bridgeport following an extensive investigation.

Officers seized the following items as a result of the search:

  • 4,535.9 grams of marijuana.
  • 68.9 grams of fentanyl.
  • 485 amphetamine pills.
  • 34.1 grams of crack cocaine.
  • One illegally possessed stolen firearm loaded with seven live rounds.
  • Thousands of U.S. dollars in cash.

Police also noted Fedrick Chapman, a Bridgeport resident and the target of the investigation, was arrested by state police and charged with multiple firearm and narcotics violations.

He was transported to the Bridgeport Correctional Center due to his inability to meet bond requirements and is currently awaiting arraignment, according to police.

"This successful operation was the result of a coordinated team effort involving federal, state, and local municipalities, all working together to combat violent crime and the illegal distribution of narcotics," police said in a news release.
