Shelton Sisters Bringing Cupcake Shop to Newtown

Cherry's Cupcakes will open in March at 150 Main St., specializing in "scrumptious gourmet cupcakes."


Thanks to two Shelton sisters, a new cupcake shop will bring some extra sweetness to Newtown's South Main Street in March.

Cherry's Cupcakes is the brainchild of Sherry Nash, of Shelton. Along with her sister, Carrie Chapin, and family friend Robin Esposito, they say they'll specialize in "scrumptious gourmet cupcakes."

It's a family effort, says Nash.

"Of course mom's gonna help, too," she says. The spot — the former location of the Happy Cheesesteak — will kick off with a grand opening sometime in March, to be announced soon.
