Why start a business in this town?

I spent most of my life here, I attended school here and now I reside here with my family.

How did you come up with the name?

I enjoy creating different hairstyles and so I thought Styles By Laurie would be a good name.

What business are you in?

Mobile Salon. We are a mobile salon that offers hairstyles, up dos, thermal styling, blow outs, conditioning treatments, spray tan, eyelash extensions. We travel to weddings, proms, photo shoots, pageants and other events.

What’s the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?

Advertising and getting my name out there has been a challenge.

What’s been your proudest achievement since opening?

One of my proudest moments was when I did hair for a pageant and the young lady who’s hair I did won.

How does your business give back to the community?

I volunteer my services for different events.
