When she's not taking care of her horses, working or attending Planning and Zoning meetings, Joan Flannery can be seen in front of a camera.
To raise money for the Seymour Food Bank, the movie "The Inheritance" will be shown at the Strand Theater, across from the Train Station, 165 Main St. It features Flannery, her daughter and actors from the Rogers International School in Stamford, where Flannery works. It also includes members of GOALD (Greater Opportunities for Adults with Learning Disabilities), Flannery said.
Her daughter, Alison Flannery, is a Spanish and French teacher at Newtown High School.
The movies is based on Louisa May Alcott's book of the same title, and is set in 1812.
Doors open at 8 p.m. Short films ("Picnic Perfect" and "Common Ground") start at 8:15 p.m. "The Inheritance" starts at 8:30 p.m. The film runs 76 minutes, Flannery said. Admission is $5 and non-perishable items can be donated, she added.
Refreshments will also be sold, Flannery added.
