Shelton's Paul and Carol Tomassetti: Framing A Career

Paul Tomassetti was a stereo salesman in the 1970s before he and his wife struck out on their own and opened their first framing business in 1984.

Thirty years later, the Tomassetti's children are grown, and the couple has opened and closed stores. But they show no signs of slowing.

Paul Tomassetti, of Shelton, who said he is nearly 60, said he keeps in shape using P90X and has been singing country music for years.

He has sung at the Trumbull Town Hall Gazebo and at the Huntington Green, not far from his store in Huntington Center, he said.

The business still thrives though he's down to one store after closing the one in Trumbull Center. There's not as much need for brick-and-mortar locations any more, he said.

The recession "clobbered the art market," Tomassetti said.
