After several delays over nearly a year and a half, the Sassafras Diner is open again.
The diner was gutted by a June 2012 fire, caused by an electrical problem in a heat lamp, said City Fire Marshal James Tortora.
Tortora said he was "glad to hear" that the restaurant was re-opened.
Owner Chris Poniros has run the restaurant for 28 years. "We are so very excited to reopen and do what we have been doing for over thirty years, bringing to the table all of your favorite meals and some great new items," the family said on its Website.
